"Not just a place to stay but a place to remember"
May 28, 2011, TripAdvisor Review

If anyone is looking for an amazing place to stay around the Ventura area, this beautiful B&B is truly one of a kind. Richard and Nona have done a really amazing job converting this 1880's era church into a totally different lodging experience. There is beautiful original German stained glass everywhere, high ceilings, antique furniture with many pieces original to the church, etc. They are also wonderful hosts with many interesting stories, we loved sitting around drinking wine and talking about the history of the church and their adventures in restoring the building. It's also within walking distance to the restaurants and bars on Main street.

Plus it's been updated, with air conditioning, updated bathrooms (but done in the period, our restroom had a huge, beautiful stained glass window in it), good water pressure in our shower (Victorian Rose room). Bed was comfortable and all the bedrooms have a fireplace in them. All in all, it was a fabulous place to stay and we will definitely be back, we're looking forward to bringing others to see it.

"WONDERFUL"

I really liked this place - the church was fascinating and the historical context was worth learning about. It is walking distance to pretty much anything that you need in Venture. I went there for one weekend night on my way to the Oaks at Ojai (which turned out to be a bad experience) but my night at the B&B made for a great start to my Cali stay regardless. The Inn Keepers were accomodating and friendly. They made sure a single person felt welcome and had a great cocktail hour at night. Breakfast rocked. Just a wonderful, interesting place. I intend to visit again.

"Amazing hosts, service, and atmosphere. Would stay again in a heartbeat."

My husband and I and our son and his wife stayed one night at Richard and Nona's lovely bed and breakfast - we would loved to have stayed longer. We had some dietary restrictions and Nona went above and beyond to meet both our food needs and those of two other guests. She also had prepared several special afternoon treats for some who were celebrating something special during their stay. Not to mention that her food is phenomenal!!! Breakfast was prepared with the same restrictions in mind and was delicious. The restored church is so unique that you have to see it to appreciate it - each room is different and homey. We will be staying here again when we are in the area. Thanks Richard and Nona for a great home away from home.
